Doris Mae Kirkham, 80, passed away March 26, 2015. She was born on June 27, 1934 in Gosport, IN to Virgil and Mary L. Davis Whitaker. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard Kirkham, parents, Virgil and Mary Whitaker, brothers, Jack C., Robert L., John, Neil, Don, sisters, Vicki L., Neville and Lois L. Whitaker. She leaves behind children Debbie (Tom) Harrison, Steve (Janet) Kirkham, and  Sonita (Roger) Harrison. Four grandchildren, Michael Harrison, Crystal Harrison (Smelser), Morgan Harrison, Andrew Kirkham, 4 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren and brother William J. (Bill) Whitaker.  She worked in the cafeteria in Lawrence and Washington township schools. She was a volunteer for Community Hospital East for 14 years, working in same day surgery and on the OB floor. She was a member of Northwest Assembly of God Church for 30 years, holding offices such as W.M. president, secretary and treasurer of Sunday school class. She was also a board member. Thanks wife and mother for all the love and memories. We will miss you until the day we all meet again.
A visitation will be held at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250 on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
